Over 5,000 hours of archival footage was reviewed to tell this story. I began filming in 2009 but couldn't watch it until 2018 because it was too hard. Editing became a process of painful healing.

When things became too much to bear alone, I turned to the camera. 
Dozens of confessionals from before and after highlight the mental changes as well as physical.

Interviews are the bedrock of the storytelling in From 500. To understand what happened, we have to hear from the people involved in the journey. Reactions from afterwards show our growth.

The second half of From 500 is footage produced in 2019 after leaving my job and hitting the road. To accomplish my dream, there is no way out but through. An incredible adventure I never expected follows.
